Monica P. Freeman, of Yellow Springs, died on Sunday, August 31. She was 41. Born Oct. 7, 1966, in Newport News, Va., she was a graduate of Norfolk State University and Old Dominion University. Monica attended Central Chapel AME Church in Yellow Springs. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Gloria (Phillips) and John Pamplin; father, Calvin Freeman; one brother, John Pamplin II; aunt Cora (Tyrone, Sr.) Callis; three cousins, Kimya, Katina, and Tyrone, Jr. Callis; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Herman and Sarah Phillips and paternal grandparents Robert and Lillian Freeman. Services are in care of Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel.
