Boys track at Shawnee
On Tuesday, May 4, the YSHS boys track team finished fifth out of ten teams at the Shawnee Invitational. Shawnee won the meet.
Mario Cosey had first-place finishes in the 100 (11.25) and 200 (23.22) dashes.
Will Rippley was second in the high jump and long jump. Logan Norris-Sayres was second in the 200 dash. They joined Chris Johnson and Cosey for second in the 4×200 relay.
The 4×800-relay team of Josh Meadows, Birch Robinson-Hubbuch, Zach McHugh and
Gabe Amrhein placed third. Antone Truss was fourth in the high jump, McHugh sixth in the 800 run, Meadows sixth in the 400 dash, the team of Meadows, Johnson, McHugh and Robinson-Hubbuch seventh in the 4×400 and Mitchell Brickson eighth in the 3200.
YSHS baseball season ends
The YSHS baseball team had a win and two losses to finish the 2010 season. The Bulldogs lost to Troy Christian 29–0 on May 4 and Middletown Christian 22–1 on April 29 but defeated Xenia Christian 3–2 on April 30.
Baseball awards, alumni game
The YSHS baseball team will hold an awards ceremony and alumni game on Friday, May 21. The awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the game at 8 p.m.
Wiener advances in tennis
Bulldog Carl Wiener advanced to the second round of the Sectional Tennis Tournament with a 2–1 win over Shawn Jackson of Southeastern this week.
On Monday, May 3, the tennis team lost to Xenia Christian, 2–3, with Isaac Haller winning in singles and Nicky Sontag and Will Turner in doubles.
