Sea Dogs rise to the challenge

By Eli Hurwitz

Last week the Yellow Springs Sea Dogs swam against two teams they had already met this season, the Wayne Wahoos on Tuesday, July 13, and the Green Valley Gators on Thursday, July 15, in Beavercreek. Both teams gave the Sea Dogs a challenge, but the local swimmers stepped up to the competition.

As the season winds down, the improvements in Sea Dogs’ times show that practice in a great pool, community support and great coaching pay off. An example is Aman Ngqakayi, who swims into this last week of the swim season undefeated and looking forward to setting a few meet records at the league championships at Wilmington College on Saturday, July 24.
