Sea Dogs take on Oakwood

The Yellow Springs Sea Dogs swam against the Oakwood Dolphins at the village’s Gaunt Park pool last Thursday, June 24. This home meet was a tough meet, but the Sea Dogs met the challenge with strong swimming and excellent sportsmanship. Aman Ngqakayi and Ian Chick both brought in a pair of first place swims — Aman in the 50 breast and 50 free, and Ian in the 50 back and the 50 free.
Results of the June 24 meet for the girls events were, 6 and under, Amelie Maruyama, third, 25 back; and Gabrielle Perkins, third, 25 free. Eight and under girls, Victoria Osborne, third, 25 back. Nine to 10 girls, Emma Reed, first, 25 fly, second, 25 breast and 25 free; and Evalynn Orme, third, 25 free. Eleven to 12 girls, Charlotte Walkey, second, 100 IM, 50 free and 50 back. Thirteen to 14 girls, Rachele Orme, second, 50 free, third, 100 free and 50 breast; Michaela Roe, third, 50 back; and Rachel Meyer, third, 50 fly. Fifteen to 18 girls, Mariah Nichols, third, 50 free, 50 breast and 50 back; and Olivia Ramage, third, 100 free.
Results for the boys events were, 8 and under, Isaiah Crawford, first, 25 back, second, 25 breast and 25 free; Mason Lindsey, first, 25 breast, third, 25 breast; and Jackson Bleything, third 25 breast. Nine to 10 boys, William Gregor, second, 25 breast; Tony Marinelli, second, 50 free; Parker Bleything, third, 25 back; and William Gray, third, 25 breast. Eleven to 12 boys, Aman Ngqakayi, first, 50 breast and 50 free; and Theron Orme, third, 50 fly and 50 free. Thirteen to 14 boys, Ian Chick, first, 50 back and 50 free; Ian Chick, Jeffery Crawford, Cameron Haught and Hayden Orme, first, 200 free relay; and Sam Salazar, second, 50 free. Fifteen to 18 boys, Matthew Salazar, first, 50 back.
This week the Sea Dogs have two away meets against the Wayne Wahoos on June 29 and the Clinton County Barracudas on Thursday, July 1.
