Marcella Binegar

Marcella Binegar, formerly of London, died Saturday, Feb. 26, at Friends Care Center. She was 103. Born Feb. 19, 1908 in Highland County, she was a daughter of John and Ollie (Cory) Simmons. Marcella was a school teacher at Greene Township School in Fayette County, and later became the principal at Lisbon School.
After moving to Florida in the mid-1950s, Marcella had the opportunity to teach the children of migrant workers. Survivors include daughter Mary Peirano of Springfield; grandson Scott Wilson and Carole Wilson; and great-grandchildren Melissa Peirano, Trisha Geyman and Les Geyman and Brok Wilson. Marcella was also survived by great-great-grandchildren Dylan Carson and Olivia Geyman, as well as several caring nieces and nephews. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Binegar, in 1964, seven brothers and sisters and grandson Michael Peirano.
Friends may call Saturday, March 5, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 103 N. Main Street in London. Graveside services will follow at White Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington Court House, with pastor Sue McClelland officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3131 S. Dixie Drive, Dayton, OH 45439, or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
