Robert B. Van Lehn

Robert “Bob” B. Van Lehn died on March 15. He was 85.
Bob was born at home in Uhrichsville, Ohio on March 27, 1925. His parents were Roy B. and Lillian Schneider VanLehn. He served in the U.S. Army, European theater, during World War II. Bob met his wife, Ruth, at Antioch College, and they spent all their working lives in Yellow Springs. Bob was with Vernay Laboratories, Inc. He also enjoyed working with his sons, in his workshop and with the First Presbyterian Church. He especially enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and camping with the family, Boy Scouts and friends. He and Ruth moved to Seven Lakes in North Carolina after retiring. There, he was active in the West End Presbyterian Church and the Sailing Club. Later, they moved to River Landing at Sandy Ridge near High Point, N.C.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ruth, and two sons, Kurt and wife Michelene Chi and their children Michelle, Cathy and Reid, and Todd and wife Laura Hasser Van Lehn. A memorial service is being planned for April 8 at River Landing. In lieu of flowers, those interested may donate to Doctors Without Borders, which may be contacted at 1-888-392-0392.
