Lester ‘Buck’ Halderman

Lester “Buck” Halderman, formerly of Yellow Springs, died Tuesday, June 21. He was 85.
Buck was born Oct. 21, 1925 in Brandt, Ohio, the son of the late Ambert and Florence (Cremeans) Halderman. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, was a German P.O.W. in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Buck is survived by his sons, Greg (Joyce) Halderman, Allen (Donna) Halderman and Kent (Terri) Halderman, by step-daughter Joan (Bill) Wray and by sisters Stella Haubaugh and Vera Hughes. He is also survived by grandchildren Courtney (Ryan) Mooring, Brian (Danielle) Halderman and Tim (Amy) Halderman, step-grandchildren Teena (Chris) and Sherry (Willard), by great-grandchildren Leahvi and Taylor and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Katie (Hall) and Jean (Hughes). A gathering of family and friends was held Friday, June 24.
