Basho moves to Kings Yard
- Published: December 31, 2011
Basho Apparel moved this month to a storefront space in King’s Yard, where the business plans to expand its inventory and continue to feature a new print artist each month. Business partners Paul Baker and Brian Johnson moved from their previous location above the Winds Cafe for better retail exposure, according to Johnson. The pair remodeled the space formerly occupied by Footprints of the Past and opened the store last week.
This month the whimsical graffiti work of Dayton artist, Etch, will be featured on some of Basho’s t-shirts, sweatshirts and other apparel, which Baker prints by silk screen. February’s artist is Jeremie Jordan, a Dayton resident who focuses in abstract painting. Basho continues to carry its original lines of silk screen prints designed by Baker. The store now carries socks and outlet covers, and plans to add printed bags, bandanas and other accessories soon.
Store hours are 11–7 weekdays, 11–9 on weekends.
