Pauline Fleck died July 17 at Hospice of Palm Beach, Fla. after a brief illness and complications from surgery. Her daughter, Eve, and good friend, Tamy Hernandez, were by her side. She was 83.
A retired registered nurse, Pauline loved the arts, music, all things “collectible,” the Boston Red Sox, the Miami Heat and, most of all, her two cats. She spent most of her nursing career in New Haven, Conn. and moved to West Palm Beach in 1992, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
Pauline is survived by her brother, Richard Haberstroh and his wife Charlotte of Salisbury, Md. and their three children and four grandchildren; her children Ronald Fleck of Renton, Wash., Patricia Eve Fleck of Yellow Springs and Kevin Fleck of West Haven, Conn.; grandchildren Lydia Gerthoffer of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Evan Gerthoffer of Yellow Springs; and great granddaughter Isabel Brown of Brooklyn, N.Y.
