Clare Loving

Clare was born on Aug. 17, 1922 in Port Antonio, Jamaica, the daughter of the late Leslie and Jeanne (Stuart) Barnett. Clare is remembered for her dedication to volunteer work at Springfield Community Hospital and Springfield Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. Her gentle nature, reliability and caring for others was noted by both patients and staff.
Clare’s talents for knitting and baking were enthusiastically received at many different events in the Yellow Springs community. She was loved by all who came to know her. Her timeless beauty, understated elegance and grace were admired. Her dedication to others was anchored through her unyielding faith; she was a well-loved member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she lifted hearts with her angelic voice.
Clare is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Neal V. Loving; son-in-law, Rod Landers; and grandson, Aaron Loving. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Eileen Loving; daughter, Michelle Landers; grandchildren, Kieran (Milena), Adrian (Stephanie), Kate, Rodney, Carl and Neal; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Rafael and Conor; and brothers, Carl Barnett and Felix Barnett. A mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Nov. 20, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
