Jeanette R. Wiggins passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, at Friends Care Community. She was 82.
Jeanette was born on Nov. 6, 1930 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Ralph and Alice (Warfield) Warren. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Rodney L. Wiggins.
After 35 years of service, Jeanette retired from Wright Patterson AFB in 1986. A loving wife and proud family matriarch, she is survived by her four children: Kurt (Constanza) of Venice, Italy; Karen (Curtis) Holland of Las Cruces, N.M. and granddaughter Leslie; Stacey (Dara) of Columbus and Sterling (Karen) of Yellow Springs and grandchildren Paloma and Elliot, as well as several relatives in Springfield and Los Angeles, Calif.
Jeanette, an excellent dancer, loved travelling and reading and enjoyed fashion and sewing her own clothes. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and with friends and family over a friendly game of cards. Of course, she was always up for the occasional ice cream run to Young’s Dairy.
A memorial service will be held on May 18 at 1 p.m. at Jackson Lytle Lewis Funeral Home in Yellow Springs. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Friends Care Community, 150 E. Herman St, Yellow Springs, OH 45387, or to Jeanette’s favorite charity, the American Heart Association, at http://www.americanheart.org.
