Mark Latson

Mark Maurice Latson passed away on March 28 after a lengthy illness. He was 48.

Mark was born on Jan. 11, 1965, in Springfield, and was reared in the South Fountain Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church. He attended Yellow Springs schools, Spring Valley Academy, Mt. Vernon Academy and graduated from Yellow Springs High School in 1983. After high school, he attended Central State University and Antioch College. He went to Key West, Fla. to further his education, and returned to Ohio to work for Central State University in the police department. While at Central State, he took courses in law enforcement forensics. After leaving Central State, he worked as a security guard for Amerigard in Columbus. He had a strong interest in computer graphics and pursued this interest at Sinclair Community College in Dayton.

Mark leaves to mourn his parents, Wilbur and Hazel Latson, aunt Betty Latson, cousins Barney Latson, Carla (Kenneth) Johnson, Maurice Miller, Barbara (James) Davis, Mary (Daniel) Conwell, Joseph (Betty) Guy, Lynn Jackson, Eula Payne, Donald (Denise) Payne, Michael Payne, Lisa Jones and Louis (Linda) Price and a host of others cousins and friends. Mark will be sorely missed.

A service for Mark was held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at South Fountain Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Pastor James Davis officiating. Mark Latson’s family wishes to thank Green Oak Nursing Center for their excellent care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Aids Resource Center, 15 South Fourth St., Dayton, OH 45402.
