Glenda Chance

Glenda J. Chance of Lexington, Ohio passed away on Sept. 27 at her home. She was 51.

Glenda was born Nov. 25, 1961, in Mansfield, Ohio. She was the daughter of William and Donna (Maxwell) Tivener, Sr. Her father and mother always called her “Stinky.” A spiritual healer, Glenda loved horseback riding, gardening, mowing her yard and decorating her home.

Surviving is her husband, Stanley Chance of Lexington, Ohio and his son, Brian Chance; Glenda’s son, Christopher Michael Kitts of Yellow Springs and his father, Michael A. Kitts of Mansfield; one daughter, Susan Akin; mother, Donna M. Tivener; sister, Debra K. Chance, wife of Alan, and their children, Dustin and Dallas Weikle, Trevor Stewart, Jennifer Herder, Justin and Shane Chance; sister, Kimberly L. Weiler, widow of Stephen, and their daughter, Kaysie Keen; mother-in-law, Betty L. Chance of Mansfield; and numerous grand-nieces and nephews and many friends.

Preceding her in death was her father, William “Tweety” Tivener Sr., on May 24, 2008; a brother-in-law, Stephen D. Weiler, on Jan. 22, 2009; and father-in-law, Harold E. Chance, on Feb. 21, 2002.

A gathering of family and friends was held Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Expressions of sympathy or memorial contributions to help with medical bills may be sent to her husband, Stan Chance, 8844 Denman Road, Lexington, OH 44904.
