Clifton opens new art gallery
- Published: December 17, 2013
The Clifton Jailhouse Gallery opened last weekend as a creative new addition to the village. Located in the old Clifton jailhouse at 141 Clinton Street above the Clifton Senior Center, the gallery serves as a gathering and showing space for local and international artists working in all mediums. Monthly openings, creative workshops, and guest speakers will be ongoing. The Clifton Jailhouse also aims to host a variety of community events relating to the arts, adding a vibrant artistic flare to the local community.
This Friday, Dec. 20 at the Jailhouse, Sheila Johnson will host a community tea party with handcrafted tea blends and lively music.
The current show features quilts, woodwork, and paintings by Yellow Springs and Clifton artists Sharri Phillips, David Flowers, Pierre Nagley, Dave Doucette, Sarah Dickens and Travis Hotaling.
