Martha Gay Lampert Luttrell

Martha Gay Lampert Luttrell, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, July 9, at Summit Park Hills Nursing Center. She was 97.

The daughter of Edward J. and Nellie (Hamma) Lampert, Martha was born Oct. 24, 1916, at her grandmother’s house in Yellow Springs. She graduated from Central High School in Xenia in 1934, and married her husband, Edwin, on Dec. 31, 1934. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and Gigi. Martha lived in her house on North King Street for 63 years, until a few months ago when, due to an illness, she left reluctantly.   

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin H. Luttrell in 1997 and a son, Stephen, in 2001. 

She is survived by her children, David (Donna) Luttrell, Mark (Linda) Luttrell, Jon K. (JoAnn) Luttrell, Susan Luttrell and Jean (Jack) Post; daughter-in-law, Mary H. Luttrell; grandchildren, Mike (Laura) Luttrell, John Luttrell, Andy (Wendy) Luttrell, Shane (Brandi) Luttrell, Nick Luttrell, Alexa and Amanda Luttrell and Josh Matthews and great-grandchildren, Greg (Jill) Luttrell and Arianna and Camry Luttrell.

The Luttrell family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Dayton for the care extended to their mother.

Martha will be interred beside her husband during private services at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Online condolences may be made to the family at http://www.mccolaughfuneralhome.com.
