Ronald “The Kid” White, a longtime resident of Yellow Springs, died on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2014 at Grandview Hospital, giving him the blessed opportunity to spend his favorite holiday with the Lord. He was 77.

Kid White was born on Aug. 24, 1937, and is survived by his Aunt Grace Harris; beloved Maxine Jones; and children Robert (Marsha) White, Denita (Reuben) Gaines-Murphy, Christa White, Renee (Mike) Isenbarger, Ron (Melissa) White Jr., Tonya White, Jalyn (Steven) Roe and Gayla Jones; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla Miles-Rice; father Artie White; and brother Vernon White. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Funeral Home in Yellow Springs. A funeral service to celebrate Kid White’s life will begin at noon on Friday, also at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Edgar A. Wallace of the First United Christian Church in Xenia officiating. Burial to follow at Glen Forest Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Mr. White’s honor to his family to help with funeral expenses.
