Yellow Springs schools on two-hour delay Thursday, Jan. 29

The Yellow Springs Board of Education has placed village schools on a two-hour delay for Wednesday, Jan. 7 due to freezing rain and hazardous roadway conditions. School will begin at 10 a.m. The Antioch School is also delayed and will open at 10:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service states that Thursday will bring rain before 5 p.m., then rain and snow mix, with a high near 42°F. Winds around 18 mph with gust as high as 34 mph.

As of 7:15 a.m., the Children’s Center has not yet indicated a change in schedule.

Welfare checks:
Slick roadways and walkways make for hazardous walking conditions for the young and elderly. If you are concerned about someone’s welfare, please call the Village police so that they may check on them.
