Ruth Lakes

Ruth Ella Lakes, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Friends Care Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Watson) Arvin. She married John V. Lakes on June 21, 1947 in Hamilton. She is survived by her husband John, who is a resident at Friends Care; two daughters, Wendy (Joseph) Bassil, of Springboro, and Johnetta Kitzmiller, of Yellow Springs; five grandchildren, Rebekah Green (Micah), Philip Bassil (Jessica), Sarah Winter (Matt), Rachel Bassil, James Kitzmiller; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph Arvin Jr.; and her sister, Ruby Klamo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 2, Hamilton, OH 45012.
