James Rigbie (Rig) Turner

James Rigbie (Rig) Turner, 74, of Cape Coral, Fla., passed away on April 25. He had been in declining health for several years.
Rig earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Earlham College, and a Master of Arts degree in musical composition from Indiana University. He spent his career as curator of musical manuscripts at the Pierpont Morgan Museum in New York City. He retired in 2007 and moved to Cape Coral.
A lifelong bachelor, Rig is survived by his brothers, Clark and Richard, both formerly of Yellow Springs, and six Turner nephews: Keith, Chris, Robert and Jonathan, who are also former residents, and Mark and Patrick.
A memorial gathering will be scheduled later. If desired, contributions in his memory can be made to Earlham College, Richmond, Ind.
