David was born Feb. 28, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Gary and Jeanette Boughan.
He was an avid book collector and loved to read. He loved to play the drums and, for many years, was a drummer with the Dayton Yellow Springs Band. David should be remembered as kind, patient and a good listener.
David is survived by his children, Jeremy and Kirsten Boughan; grandchildren Sundar and Daya Woodyard-Boughan; siblings April (Greg) Ross, Judy (Eric) Brown, and Steve (Cynthia) Boughan; and niece and nephews Shelby and Benjamin Ross and Byron, Ethan, and Jared Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, at 4 p.m., at Glen Helen Nature Preserve, at the big rock by the Trailside Museum, with Scott Lindberg officiating. There will be a fellowship dinner following the service to honor friends at 320 Union St., Yellow Springs.
