The Telegraph String Quartet will open the 2015–16 Chamber Music in Yellow Springs season on Sunday, Sept. 27, 7:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church. The concert will feature Joseph Haydn’s Op. 20 No. 2, from 1772, and closes with Antonín Dvorák’s String Quartet Op. 105. The quartet will also perform pieces from two modernist composers: American composer Henry Cowell’s String Quartet No. 4, called “United,” and Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff’s “Five Pieces for String Quartet.”
Beginning at 6:45 p.m., Kevin Mulhall will give a pre-concert lecture in the church. Those wishing to attend a post-concert dinner with the artists in a local home should contact CMYS at 937-374-8800 at least four days in advance to reserve a place. Ticket and season information is available at http://www.cmys.org.
