The YS Arts Council invites community members to use this coloring page to submit their own design for the building's exterior.

This November, three artists will again be "locked in" at the YSAC Community Gallery, with three days to create an art installation from donated materials.

“Locked In” event to return, materials sought

This November, the YS Arts Council will host “Locked In — Team 2.” The event is a reprise of last year’s successful “Locked In” event, in which three artists were locked in to the YSAC Community Gallery for three days to create a piece, while a videographer recorded their work. This year, three artists applied for the three-day residency as a team and, as was the case last year, the three will be locked in with three boxes of “stuff” from the community to use in their installation. Each of the artists may bring three tools with them, and the trio will have three phone calls among them to call for and outside material to be brought in during their three days in the gallery.

Art-lovers who would like to donate material to possibly be used in the installation are invited to do so now. The YSAC Community Gallery is open Wednesday–Sunday, 1–4 p.m., at 111 Corry St. Those who would like to deliver a meal to the artists during the residency (and get a peek at the work-in-progress) are asked to contact Nancy Mellon at nancymellon.jafa@gmail.com.
