Steven Brzezinski, of Beavercreek, and faculty emeritus of Antioch University, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 19, 2015. He was born on May 5, 1947, in Chicago, first of Steven and Esther Brzezinski’s ten children. A professor, he taught political science at University of Wyoming and marketing and management at Antioch McGregor, where he served as dean and interim president. He continued serving in administrative and faculty positions at Antioch University Midwest.
A voracious reader and raconteur, he loved books, film/TV, sports (Bulls, White Sox), and music (Bob Dylan). He was a loving father to his sons, Max and Joe, and doting grandfather to Malcolm. He is survived by eight brothers and sisters, his daughter-in-law Sarah Harlan and his father, whose name he shared. He will also be sorely missed by his former students and colleagues.
A memorial service for the community that honored and loved him will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, noon–2 p.m., in the multi-purpose room at Antioch University Midwest. There will be an open mic for memories. Contact Joe Cronin at Antioch University or Jane Brown or Jim Malarkey in Yellow Springs for further information regarding the memorial.
