Bulldog Sport Round-up — Dec. 31, 2015

BASKETBALL

YSHS Lady Bulldogs non-conference game against the Graham Local Falcons sadly resulted in a 52–46 defeat on Dec. 28. Junior Elizabeth Smith was responsible for 20 of the team’s points, and Junior Julian Roberts sank three three-pointers. Amani Wagner pulled down six of the team’s 30 rebounds, with Roberts and Smith grabbing five each. The game took place at home, resulting in a 0–5 home record.

Yellow Springs boys’ basketball played the first of the season’s two games against the Troy Christian Eagles on Dec. 22. The game unfolded on enemy territory and resulted in a 45–31 victory for the Bulldogs. Senior Devon Perry (#10) scored almost a third of the team’s points, sinking a total of 13.

YSHS travelled to Waynesville to take part in the two-day Waynesville Classic on Dec. 28 and 29. The Bulldogs’ first game was against the Waynesville Spartans, which resulted in a close but nonetheless tragic 54–45 loss. Devon Perry again led the team in scoring, this time netting 12 points.

The second game, played Dec. 29 against the Goshen Warriors, resulted in a narrow loss, 59–52. After the two-day extravaganza, YSHS now has a record of 7–3.
