Virginia S. Crawford

Virginia was born the daughter of John and Gustena (Bleich) Sturm on August 8, 1928 in Greene County, Pennsylvania.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband James P. Crawford, Ret. Lt. Colonel; two brothers and two sisters. Virginia is survived by four sons, Stephen (Ellen Stein) Crawford, of Columbus, James P. (Dinah) Crawford, of Casstown, Carl Scott (Nancy) Crawford, of Mt. Vernon and Mark (Amy) Crawford, of Yellow Springs; grandchildren Caleb, Travis, Jacob, Nicole, Julie, Kristen, Matthew, Samuel and Grant; and six great-grandchildren.
Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. Virginia was a proud member of the Enon Historical Society, and enjoyed spending time with the friends she made at the Enon Garden Club. She resided at Friends Care Community in Yellow Springs for many years; her family extends gratitude to the FCC staff for the loving care she received. Virginia was a long time member of the Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Services were held on Monday, Dec. 28, at Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fairborn, with Rev. Thomas A. Nevels as celebrant. Inurnment will be held at Enon Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Virginia’s honor to the Enon Historical Society at 45 Indian Dr., Enon, Ohio 45323 or by calling 937-864-7080.
