Wilbur A. Latson

Wilbur A. Latson peacefully closed his eyes in rest on May 15, 2016, in Soin Medical Center. He was 84.

Mr. Latson was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Columbus, the son of Mattie and Joseph Latson. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and served his country in the U.S. Marines. He retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after many years of dedicated service.

Wilbur enjoyed music, poetry, classical literature and travel and was an accomplished photographer, computer software developer, graphic designer and family genealogist. He was active in the South Fountain Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Wilbur leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Dr. Hazel Latson, with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 24, 2016; sister Betty L. Latson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Latson and siblings Thomas Latson and Evelyn M. Elkins.

Services were held on Saturday, May 21, at South Fountain Seventh Day Adventist Church. Burial was held in Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent at robertchenryfuneralhome.com.
