YS Community Band to perform Sunday evening

The YS Community Band will present “South of the Border” on Sunday, May 22, 7:30 p.m., in the Mills Lawn gym. The band will present music influenced by Latin American traditions and relationships. Included in the program will be compositions by John Philip Sousa, Louis Moreau Gottschalk and Quincy Jones, as well as medleys from the musical “South Pacific” and the film “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Admission is free, and donations at the door will benefit YS Community Music.
