Free creative writing program for youth to be offered
- Published: June 13, 2016
Antioch University Midwest will offer a free writing program this summer for middle and high school aged students in Yellow Springs who have an interest in creative writing. The program, held concurrently with the renowned Antioch Writers’ Workshop, is designed to instruct, inspire, nurture and encourage young creative writers.
Running in the evenings July 9 –July 14, participants will have the opportunity to work in small groups to craft a story utilizing physical prompts found in a basket. These “basket stories” will be developed over the course of several nights while discussing different aspects of writing such as setting, point of view, terms and characters. Additionally, participants will get to listen to authors, faculty members and participants of the Writers’ Workshop as they present their readings.
Parents can sign their children up on the AUM website at http://www.antiochmidwest.edu/youngscholars.
