Explore big trucks up close at ‘Touch-a-Truck’ event

The Village of Yellow Springs invites kids of all ages to come out on Saturday, Aug. 27, to the “Touch-A-Truck” event. Those who have ever dreamed of getting up close to vehicles like fire trucks, police cruisers, front end loaders or bucket trucks are invited to come out and not only see, but touch big trucks and equipment on loan from agencies all over Green County that will be on display.

Parents are also invited to complete an Ident-a-Kid Kit free of charge, courtesy of Western Southern Life Insurance. Ident-A-Kid ID cards, which look like driver’s licenses and contain a child’s photograph, fingerprint and description, are kept by parents and can provide members of law enforcement with important information in the event that a child goes missing.

Those attending are also invited to meet and talk with Village employees and their families, and free hot dogs, chips and drinks will be on offer. The event will be held on Walnut Street in front of Mills Lawn Elementary School, 2–5 p.m.
