Alice Jean Flowers

Alice Jean Flowers passed away on Feb. 22, 2017, in Virginia Beach, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles E. Flowers.

Alice taught at Mills Lawn Elementary School from 1968 to 1973, and was principal at the school until 1975, when her family moved to Nashville, Tenn.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Allison Flowers Bond and Allyssa Flowers Lane; and three grandchildren, Alexandria J. Bond, Jeffrey J. Bond and John Lane III. She leaves two remaining sisters, Mary Juanita Gibbs and Barbara Ann Blackburn, both of Xenia; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and countless friends.

The Norfolk Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated conducted their Omega Omega Service on March 3 and a memorial service was held on Saturday, March 4, at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church in Norfolk, Va.
