Yellow Springs Strings annual spring concert at Senior Center

The Yellow Springs Strings will present its annual spring concert on Tuesday, May 9, 7 p.m., in the Senior Center great room.

The 16-member ensemble will perform a wide variety of music, including pieces by Bach, Grieg, Mozart and Susan Day, a contemporary American composer.

A string trio — Nadine Martin, Melissa Kuhns and Nancy Hesz — will be featured in Dvorak’s “Slavonic Dance in E minor.” The YS Cello Quartet, with members Ann Rich, Bob Breca, Hesz and Shirley Mullins, will open the concert with selections from Schubert and Handel. All are welcome to attend, and families with children who play stringed instruments are especially encouraged.

The concert is free, and donations will be shared with the Senior Center.
