Deborah Jean Marvin, age 61, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at her residence. She was born on July 17, 1955, in Waukegan, Ill., to the late John E. and Justina (Custer) Marvin. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved spouse, Diana Glawe; daughter Amelia Shaw; son John Shaw; sisters, Susan (Keith) Henson and Joni (Dave) Baker; her brothers John J. Marvin and Steven (Terri) Marvin; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
Deb was a great mom and loving spouse. She retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as the Chief of Staffing with 36 years of service and was a highly respected co-worker, mentor and supervisor. She had many interests and enjoyed many activities and was most happy when she was on the move. Deb was an accomplished golfer and hiked the El Camino de Santiago — 450-plus miles across Spain — and portions of the Appalachian Trail. She enjoyed travel, visiting many places in the U.S. and overseas, but always finding herself most at home in Yellow Springs. Deb was an avid reader, listened to a wide-range of music, and was well known for her playful sense of humor. She will be forever missed and never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Deb’s memory to the Yellow Springs Library, 415 Xenia Ave, Yellow Springs, OH, 45387.
