The YSHS and McKinney spring musical, “Disney’s High School Musical, On Stage!” will be performed Friday–Sunday, March 9–11 and 16–18, at Mills Lawn. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
This year’s production is based on the popular Disney Channel film “High School Musical,” which has garnered many fans since its original premiere in 2006. The musical will be directed by Ed Knapp, with musical direction by Lorrie Sparrow-Knapp. Elizabeth Lutz and alumnus Christina Burks will choreograph the show, and Ali Thomas will serve as technical director.
“The students used their voice and choice to pick the show this year,” said Sparrow-Knapp. “We’re thrilled to see their enthusiasm for a piece that celebrates communities in the schools.”
Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. Tickets may be reserved in advance online by visiting http://www.showtix4u.com and searching “Yellow Springs.” A small fee applies to online purchases. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
YSHS and McKinney are also hosting a crowd-funding effort for new microphones; those who would like to offer donations are asked to visit http://www.donorschoose.org/project/
