TRACK
Several Bulldog athletes acquitted themselves quite well against stiff competition this past Saturday, May 19, at the Division III District Track Meet at Milton-Union.
Amani Wagner is the newly crowned District Champion in the shot put as she once again set a new school record (38’2”).
Ninth-grader Annlyn Foster qualified for the regional meet in three different events: the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and 400 relay. Joining Annlyn in the relay will be Haneefah Jones, Wagner and Ayanna Madison who is participating in the Regionals for the third year in a row. Ninth-grader Haneefah Jones also made the Regional Meet in the high jump. The Regional Preliminaries are scheduled Wednesday, May 23, and the Finals are Friday, May 25, both at Troy Memorial Stadium.
Several Bulldogs scored at the District Meet but did not move on to the Regionals, among these were the following:
Jude Meekin, fifth place, 3200 meters;
Wagner, fifth place, discus;
Raven Campbell, seventh place, 800 meters;
Ibi Chapelle, seventh place. long jump;
Chapelle, eighth place, 100 meters;
Kaden Bryan, Chappelle, Liam Hackett and Finn Bledsoe, eighth place, 400 meter relay.
SUMMER TRACK
The Southwest Ohio Track Club program will start on Tuesday, May 29, and will continue through the end of July.
Practice for ages 7-12 will be Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 29–July 26, from 5–6 p.m. Practice for ages 13 and older will be Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 29–July 26, from 6–7:45 p.m. Practices will take place at Yellow Springs High School.
