Victor C. Nieset

Victor C. Nieset of Elyria, Ohio, passed away at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was 78.
Victor was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Gibsonburg, Ohio. He graduated from Gibsonburg High School and Bowling Green State University. He taught high school math for Elyria City Schools for 30 years. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was gregarious, enjoyed a good joke, and will always be remembered for his infectious laugh.
Victor is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen (Wasserman); his daughters, Sharon Garwig (Darrell), Joan Harris (Brian), of Yellow Springs, Julie Kadrmas (Dan), and Judy Dolata (Warren); seven grandchildren; and siblings, Alice Darr (Albert), Jane Aldrich (Robert), and Dennis Nieset (Rita). He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Anna (Foos) Nieset; sisters, Marie Strick and Dorris Nieset; and brothers, Kenneth Nieset and Eugene Nieset.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, June 29, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
