World House Choir seeks new singers

The World House Choir invites interested singers to join in singing “Missa Gaia” in four performances scheduled for September in Yellow Springs, Dayton and Urbana. Rehearsals are held each Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Foundry Theater at Antioch College.

Paul Winter’s Missa Gaia is a contemporary ecumenical and ecological Mass celebrating the earth. The work features lyrical melodies with dynamic rhythms from African, Brazilian and American gospel traditions, incorporating traditional Mass and Biblical texts and interweaving the voices of wolves, whales and harp seals.

Voice placement exercises for new singers will be held Monday, June 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Free childcare is offered during rehearsal. All are welcome.
