Rickie Ann Roberson

Rickie Ann Roberson, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019. She was 74.
Rickie was born on March 22, 1945, in Lynn, W.Va., the daughter of Walter and Pearl (Mills) Varney. Rickie is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of almost 55 years, Charles H. Roberson Jr.; her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Bryan Cooper) Roberson; her grandson and best buddy, Charles James Cooper; siblings, Clinton Varney, James Varney, Wanda Whitt, Joyce Huff, Faye Hatfield, Madonna Hatfield and Fannie Keith; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Rickie was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie, Paul and Alfred Varney.
Rickie and her husband owned and operated C&R Dry-cleaning Systems LLC for over 40 years. She was a devout Christian and dedicated member at New Beginnings Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed fishing and working in her yard, tending to her flowers and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Rickie lived her life taking care of others and her sense of humor could brighten a room. Rickie’s family was her top priority and she was loved by everyone she met.
A celebration of her life was held on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. Rickie was known for her love of sweets, so concluding the service, her family gathered to share memories and enjoy some sweet treats in her honor, also at the funeral home.
