William Ross Jr.

William Orville Ross Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on July 4, 2020. He was 96.
William was born on Sept. 22, 1923 in Richmond, Ind. He served honorably in the United States Army in Europe during World War II. He retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a locksmith, but continued his own locksmith business for a few more years. William also enjoyed golfing with his friends and was a trustee at his church, First Baptist Church in Yellow Springs.
William is survived by his wife of 74 years, Thelma; daughter, Marsha (Cornelius); son, Federico (Miriam); three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, William O. Ross III.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 11 a.m.–noon, at First Baptist Church in Yellow Springs, with his service beginning at noon. Burial will be held at Glen Forest Cemetery with military honors.
