Girls basketball

The Yellow Springs High School girls basketball team hosted conference leader Legacy Christian Academy on Saturday, Jan. 16. Facing an opponent undefeated in the conference, YSHS came up shy, losing 54–19.

The visiting Knights held the Bulldogs to just eight points in the first half, outscoring them 31–8. The deficit was just too much for the home team to overcome. Individual scores were not available by press time.

With the loss, the team fell to 7–3 on the season, 1–3 in conference play.

McKinney loses to tough opponent

The McKinney Middle School co-ed basketball team lost Saturday, Jan. 16, in the afternoon at home versus Legacy Christian. The boys and girls were excited to get the opportunity to play Saturday after having two games canceled earlier in the week due to COVID-19-related issues.

Despite their best efforts, the Bulldogs lost 35–26 to the Knights. Scoring during the afternoon was Landon Harris, with 11, Alex Van Ausdal, with nine, and Kaveeyon Wagner, with six. The team hopes to see some action this week and add to their win column.
