Grace Ann Thompson, 90, passed away on Nov. 13, 2021, in Springfield, Ohio.
Grace was born on Sept. 15, 1931, to Walter Woodruff Shelton and Lula Angeline Bacon in Calhoun, Tenn.
Grace, or Granny to many, moved to Yellow Springs in 1991 and dedicated her time to the care of her granddaughters. Grace was a keeper of things. She collected elephants, Buddha statues, and was the queen of lists. She became well-known for sitting on Xenia Avenue in downtown Yellow Springs and documenting all she saw. She also had many passions. Grace loved to travel, dance, watch game shows and play bingo, but, above all, she enjoyed making people laugh.
She is survived by her daughter, Erica Bothwell and her son-in-law, Seth Bothwell, and was a doting and loving Granny to three granddaughters, Jillian Drew (Brian Drew), Caitlin Bothwell Moon (Jake Moon), and Allison Bothwell, as well as two great-grandchildren, Tatum and Thomas Drew.
In line with her wishes, Grace’s ashes will be scattered at sea by her family at a later date.
