Judy Peck
- Published: March 2, 2022
Judy Peck was born on Sept. 1, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, to Jacob and Evelyn Reiter. On Jan. 5, 2022, she passed away fighting a short battle with cancer.
Judy grew up in a small town in the country with her two sisters and enjoyed many hours playing in the snow in the winter and swimming at a nearby lake in the summer. After her graduation, she spent two years in college and met her husband, Henry, who brought her to the Yellow Springs area, where she resided for over 45 years.
Judy was active in her community, doing volunteer work with the Animal Welfare League. She dearly loved all animals — especially cats. She was the owner of a few and took in several strays. She volunteered for Ralph Nader as a consumer rights advocate. She touched many lives with her singing abilities, entertaining the residents at the Friends Care Nursing Home for many years.
She will be missed by all the lives she touched and by her family and friends, who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Peck; mother, Evelyn Reiter; father, Jacob Reiter; and brother-in-law, Jack. She is survived by two sisters, Sue and Linda; a brother-in-law; a niece; a nephew; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
