Village seeks input on roads
- Published: October 9, 2025
The Village is seeking public feedback on two separate, but related issues involving local roadways.
One concerns the Community Space @ Short Street pilot project, which temporarily closed Short Street to vehicles to create a community space.
According to the Village, all responses will be compiled into a summary report to be included in the Council Packet for Village Council’s Oct. 20, meeting. Responses will be anonymous, and no personal information will be captured unless the respondent voluntarily provides it in their open-ended comments. Anything written in the open-ended questions may appear in the public report, but it will not be linked to the respondent’s name.
The survey will close at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13; take it at http://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2937HVX.
The second survey is from the YS Active Transportation Committee as part of its efforts to update the 2019 Active Transportation Plan.
According to the Village, the plan “has been critical [in] securing close to $5 million dollars over the last five years to support transformational projects, including the Dayton Street Multimodal Path, Traffic Calming at Village Gateways, the Mary’s Way Bike Trail and Safe Routes to School Sidewalk/Crosswalk Projects.”
The current survey seeks feedback on existing priority projects as well as new priorities that should be added. A submission deadline has not been announced. To take the survey, go to http://www.bit.ly/46jtRMj.
