BOWLING
Win for girls, win and loss for boys
The Bulldogs girls bowling team claimed victory over Archbishop Carroll High School Wednesday, Jan. 14, winning 1,698–1,546 over the Patriots.
Sophomore Avery Tobias led the team for scoring, bowling 349 across two regular games. Filling out the win ahead of a Baker game were junior Kennedy Strobel with 309, junior Emery Fodal with 263, junior Bertille Pichoneau with 258 and sophomore Elise Bongorno with 219.
The girls currently have a conference record of 0–2, with an overall season record of 4–2.
The Bulldogs boys team netted a win over Legacy Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 13, prevailing 1,799–1,373. Senior Noah Diamond was the scoring leader, netting 352 pins across two regular games, followed closely by senior Owen Price with 343, sophomore Bryce Fleming with 281, and senior Jaxyn Fletcher with 269. Sophomores Noah Horn and Orion Sage-Frabotta racked up 119 and 115 pins, respectively, in a single regular game.
The boys went on to fall to Carroll High by a single pin the following day, Jan. 14, with a score of 1,864–1,863. Diamond was again the scoring leader, with 358 pins across two regular games, again followed by Price with 324, Fleming with 302 and Fletcher with 232. In single games, Horn and Sage-Frabotta scored 124 and 91, respectively.
The boys, tied for second in their division, hold a conference record of 4–1, with an overall season record of 7–3.
BASKETBALL
Losses for Bulldogs
The Bulldogs girls basketball team fell to Legacy Christian away Thursday, Jan. 15; the final score for the game was 59–10.
No stats for the game were available at press time.
Stats for the girls’ Jan. 8 52–20 loss against Calvary Christian were not available in time for last week’s issue; since then, the game’s score has been updated and stats have been posted. Sophomore Sage Oberg led the team for offense, netting 10 points, followed by freshman Malini Miller with seven; the scoring was rounded out by freshman Jai’bre Anderson with two points and freshman Piper Millhoan with one. Miller was the rebound leader with 11, followed by freshman Rythme Greene with eight.
The Bulldogs boys faced a trio of losses, beginning with a 70–35 home loss against Dixie on Tuesday, Jan. 13. Sophomore Luke Mikesell was the offensive leader with 10 points, followed by junior Dylan Reed with seven; scoring was rounded out by junior Sameer Sajabi with four points, sophomores Alex Lewis and Maddox Buster and junior Neirin Barker with three points, senior Phoenix York and sophomore Sherrod Wheeler with two points and senior Teddy Horvath with one point. Sajabi and Buster each nabbed five rebounds over the course of the game, with Sajabi also netting three steals and three assists.
Playing away on Friday, Jan. 16, the Bulldogs fell 53–38 to Legacy Christian Academy. Lewis was the scoring leader for the game with 16, followed by Buster with nine and Mikesell with eight; Reed and Sajabi each scored two points and racked up four rebounds each, reinforcing Buster’s five rebounds.
A Monday, Jan. 19, home match against Mariemont ended with a score of 80–25 against the Bulldogs. Mikesell racked up 13 points for Yellow Springs, with scoring rounded out by Buster with four, Sajabi and Horvath with three and Barker with two. Sajabi and Buster each nabbed three rebounds, and Mikesell added three steals to the game’s activity.
The boys currently have a conference record of 2–4, with an overall season record of 3–12.
