Reed quintet delights students

Members of the Amsterdam-based reed quintet Calefax treated Mills Lawn students to a music workshop on Monday. In town for a Chamber Music concert, Calefax taught students about the history of their instruments, demonstrated the range of sounds and styles they can play with them and generally amused them with musical trivia.

Calefax consists of Oliver Boekhoorn, oboe, Ivar Berix, clarinet, Raaf Hekkema, saxophone, Jelte Althuis, bass clarinet, and Alban Wesly, bassoon.
