Board to vote on new school principals

The Yellow Springs schools have recommended two principals for Yellow Springs High School and for Mills Lawn Elementary to be approved by the school board at the board’s meeting on Thursday, April 8. According to the board’s agenda, Yellow Springs resident Matthew Housh has been recommended to lead Mills Lawn, and Columbus resident Tim Krier will be recommended as principal of YSHS/McKinney Middle School.
Housh is currently the principal of Valley Forge Elementary, a school with 560 students which is part of the Huber Heights City School District. He lives in the village with his wife Deb and their son Tyson.
Krier currently works as a grant coordinator for the Ohio Department of Education’s Office for Safety, Health and Nutrition. He formerly served six years as principal of the middle and high schools in the York City School District in Virginia.
Both positions begin in August.
