Brenda Adams

Brenda Joyce Adams was born in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Russell Lewis Winburn Sr. and Paulina Brown on Feb. 8, 1940.

At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized in Ohio. She was united in holy matrimony to Philip Adams Jan. 4, 1958, in Springfield. They later moved to San Francisco, Calif., and in 2001 to Tracy, Calif., to be with their son’s family.

Throughout her life, Brenda enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, especially her friends of the Sunday Jazz and Blues Club.

She is survived by her husband, Philip, her son, Anthony, and daughter-in-law Evelia; three grandchildren, Anthony, David and Angelica Adams; two brothers, Hershell Winburn of Yellow Springs and James (Noriko) Winburn of Xenia; three sisters, Julia (Milton) Tyree and Reva Broady of Springfield and Mildred (Everett) Webb of Xenia; two aunts, Flossie M. Gentry of Sacramento, Calif., and Jean Mabra of Springfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial wake will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, in Tracy, Calif. Condolences may be sent to the family by an online guestbook at http://www.frymemorialchapel.com .
