DP&L repairs one-hour blackout

Power was out for the entire village of Yellow Springs between 10:30 and 11:30 on Monday, due to a broken switch at the DP&L substation on Snypp Road. Yellow Springs Village electric crew members notified the power company of the problem, which was likely caused by the heavy rains that blanketed the region all day, according to Village Electric and Water Distribution Superintendent Kelley Fox on Monday. DP&L took just under an hour to restore power to the village and pull residents back to school and work after a brief separation from the grid.
