SPORTS SUNDAY — YSHS volleyball gets revenge at home

In a rematch with Xenia Christian last week, the YSHS varsity volleyball team got revenge on the visiting Ambassadors, winning 25–21, 25–15, 25–23.

The Bulldogs stayed strong through the match, battling back from deficits and rallying on long volleys to come away with a three-set win on Thursday after losing to Xenia Christian just two weeks ago. See the Oct. 6 issue of the YS News for the game statistics and view a gallery of photos from the match below.

In other Bulldog sports news, the YSHS boys and girls soccer teams won a double header at Stivers last week. The girls notched a 4–0 victory, their first of the season, before the boys scored a 6–0 win. The seventh grade volleyball team capped an undefeated season by winning the Metro Buckeye Conference tournament on Saturday, while the eighth grade team advanced as far as  the semifinals. And several cross country runners placed well at Saturday’s Buck Creek Invitational.

See the Oct. 6 issue of the YS News for the full coverage of the week’s games.
