Volleyball loses in tournament
The Yellow Springs High School volleyball team ended its season in the first round of the district tournament. On Oct. 18, the Bulldogs travelled to Jackson Center and lost in straight games, 5–25, 11–25, 4–25.
During the loss, Emma Peifer and Maryah Martin had strong games. Each had three blocks at the net while Martin led in kills (4) and Peifer in digs (3).
YSHS ended the year with a 11–11 record (4–8) and a fourth-place finish in the Metro Buckeye Conference. The team improved on last year’s sixth-place finish and 7–13 record.
Three Bulldogs were among the top ten kill leaders in the conference — Kennedy Harshaw (fourth), Maya Hardman (seventh), and Peifer (eighth). Hardman and Harshaw were also Dayton-area leaders in aces. Hardman came in second in the Miami Valley (91 aces) and Harshaw came in fifth (75 aces).
