Mayer to leave WYSO
- Published: January 10, 2012
WYSO Public Radio Director of Business Operations and Development Jacki Mayer will soon be leaving the station, having accepted a position with Allegiance Software, based in Fargo, North Dakota.
Mayer has been in her job since 2004, and during that time she supervised underwriting sales and membership activities, both of which, during her tenure, grew steadily. She created the station’s major fundraising event, the Silent Auction and Wine Tasting, planned WYSO’s annual on-air fund drives and helped create the free summer concerts.
“Jacki made a huge difference at WYSO,” said General Manager Neenah Ellis. “She cared deeply about our mission, underwriters and members and had long-lasting relationships with hundreds of people. Allegiance will allow Jacki to apply her skills in a new direction and we all wish her well on her new adventure.”
Allegiance provides fund-raising and accounting software tailored to the needs of public and religious broadcasters. After a three-month training period in Fargo, Mayer will become a sales and marketing representative based in Greene County. Her job will involve extensive travel across the country to see clients and represent the organization.
With plans for expansion and relocation of its studios this spring and an increase in signal strength to 50,000 watts, WYSO plans to expand its staff and boost its development capacity to fill Mayer’s roles, according to a station press release.
Two new WYSO job positions were recently posted: director of development and director of finance and accounting. Interested persons can find both postings online at WYSO.org or call 937-769-1387 for information.
